Here at Wasatch House we have an excellent exercise area, an inexpensive thrift store, and a beautiful building for our member to enjoy. And it is our W.A.G. Unit (Wellness, Apparel, Grounds) that gives our members the opportunity to excel in those areas. Members in our W.A.G. Unit are trained, qualified, and work hard to make Wasatch House look as good as possible!

“Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.”

We know that good physical health can contribute to good mental health. That’s why our Wellness area incorporates daily exercise opportunities, daily walking groups, and information to address physical wellness.

“Never wear anything that panics the cat.”

The Thrift Store gives our members both an inexpensive store to buy clothes and the experience of learning useful skills beneficial to employment. Members get the chance to use the cash register, sort through and itemize donations, and display donated items for other members to purchase. In doing so, our members learn skills necessary to organize a store and make it presentable should they have the desire to find employment in a department or other stores.

“The snow won’t shovel itself!”

The Grounds crew learns valuable skills in maintaining both safety and a professional appearance around Wasatch House. Members can learn to use lawn mowers, lawn edgers, weed-whackers, snow shovels, snow blowers, and other tools as we keep our property looking nice.
You can also learn to use cleaning supplies and proper chemical use and storage as we keep our inside looking clean and professional.
