“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in getting up every time we do.”

In the Career Unit there are a variety of resources at the member’s disposal that can assist and prepare them for various levels of employment. Staff and members work side-by-side in searching and researching for local employment opportunities for our members. Creating email accounts, writing up resumes and cover letters, basic computer skills, and other skills development can be found in the Career Unit. If you’re interested in learning more about Transitional Employment, Supported Employment, and Independent Employment, you can follow these links to learn more about what we work toward in the Career Unit.

As part of the Career Unit we have our Education Room that provides the opportunity for our members to further their educational goals. We have a licensed State of Utah teacher who comes in Monday through Wednesday and is able to help create a personalized educational plan for members in helping them obtain their high school diploma or G.E.D. The Education Room also helps with tutoring members, researching and applying for colleges and universities, and helping members who work in our Kitchen Unit obtain their Utah Food Handlers Permit.

STIGMA BUSTERS

As part of our education program, our Stigma Busters group is a small group of members who visit local university classes to present on Clubhouse and help break the stigma of mental illness. We talk about the philosophy of Clubhouse and our members share their story of living with mental illness and the benefits that Clubhouse has provided for them.
